PROGRAM OVERVIEW
In this program Master Photographer, Gigi O’Dea, will show you how to incorporate composites into your everyday client work. Make the most out of every session to customize background or concepts for clients to have more variety for them to purchase. Learn what to look for when posing and lighting for creating believable composites. We will discuss how even some simple compositing can earn you more for your business and set you apart from your competition.
Gigi O’Dea is the owner of Memory Portraits by Gigi and has been in business for 18 years in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. As a Neonatal Intensive care nurse for over 20 years, photographing newborns is a natural fit for her business. She retired from nursing in 2017 to focus her energy on serving her clients.
Gigi has a passion to create unique portraits that stand out. She is also deeply passionate about competing. She is a six-time recipient of the Photographer of the Year at Bay Professional Photographers Association and was a Top Ten Photographer the last six years at the FPP state competition. In 2019 she was awarded both Photographer and Artist of the Year. And again, in 2020, she was awarded Photographer of the year for the Florida Professional Photographers.
Gigi has only competed the last five years in the International Print Competition (IPC), she has had the honor of several of her images being chosen as a Grand Imaging Award Finalist. In 2020, she won first place with her image titled “So Happy Together” and in 2021, She placed 2nd in the Children’s portrait category for her image “Cry Baby”. In addition, this past year she achieved Diamond photographer of the year, which was a personal goal for her and had 3 of her images chosen as a GIA finalist. Gigi’s attention to detail and persistent commitment to elevating her craft is evident in her achievements.
Gigi has earned the degree of Master Photographer, Master Artist, and is a Certified Professional Photographer through PPA. She has also earned her Florida Degree of Photographic Excellence and her Florida Degree of Artistic Excellence from the Florida Professional Photographers Association.
